I am coming to change nation’s destiny: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

I am coming to change nation’s destiny: Dr Tahir-ul-QadriSunday, December 16, 2012 - Lahore—Preparations are underway to give Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, a founder leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) and Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT), a befitting reception and welcome on his return to Pakistan

Welcome banners, party’s flags and posters of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri have been hoisted and hoardings erected almost along all major city roads, especially in Township while a welcoming campaign has also been initiated through Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s posters on the back of auto-rickshaws in the city. According to the official statement of MQI, all the expenditures being incurred on advertisement campaign to welcome Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri are being borne by the people themselves since all segments of society are taking part in this campaign. The official statement further reveals that people sold their houses, their jewellery, and their belongings to book buses to transport them to Minar-e-Pakistan on December 23.

MQI leadership claims that the arrival of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri after residing so many years in Canada in Pakistan is the beginning of demolishing a system, which is erected on hooliganism, authoritarianism, manipulative tactics, and corruption and simultaneously dawning of a new prosperous, stable and peaceful Pakistan. The party’ rankers further claim that the advent of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in Pakistan is for the purpose of change and their slogan to save the country, not the politics is vividly indicated that as long as this electoral system stayed intact, it is impossible to think of change leave alone make it happen.

In a statement, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said hundreds of elections held under the present system would fail to bring about any change in the country. He said that they wanted to bring real change in Pakistan and those who claimed to do so by remaining a part of this present system were deceiving the people.

“MQI has no hidden agenda and those who compare it with other parties are not doing apt political analysis as MQI has only a sole slogan and this is to save the state, not politics,” he added.
