Now or Never? Lenin's Perspective.

Pakistan's situation has reached to the level ripe for revolution, as Lenin would put it, but there is one thing missing; the people, the unity.

The situation is such that there is mass unemployment, mass poverty, high cost of living and weak economy, people are unhappy, mass freehand given to terrorists, armed militias in Sindh are a common sight, an average respectable and honest person cannot contest elections and win because it is made for the elites of corruption, rape and forced marriages are the norm of society, suicides are rising by an alarmingly exponential level, the list goes on and on. The government is inept. It is incapable of delivering any worthwhile services to the people and cannot, or maybe does not, want to end terrorism which has brought the country to its knees.

So what is the solution? I will speak through Lenin's perspective, one of the greatest revolutionary leaders and philosophers in the world. He writes about change and the two methods of change in his book: 'What Is To Be done?'

Firstly he says the people can create a political party, where they will contest elections, they will create a massive media campaign and shake the country from its roots that change will come, but it never will. Any constitutional expert can explain that the Pakistani system is unique; in the sense that it only allows the worst of the worst, the corrupt of the corrupt to enter into politics, and succeed in pillaging and stealing from the Peoples wealth (there is an extremely small minority of people who are honest and good who enter politics). This party will spend years saying "we are your only hope for change, vote for us", but once in the National Assembly, they are the same as the others. The system is designed to allow corrupt people in, but it also corrupts. When these MNAs receive their piles of gold and silver in the name of development funds, they too become corrupted. They seek more wealth, more power. They cannot create proper change, because the system forces them to make compromises, so they will never create a policy that can benefit the People without it harming the people. Lenin discusses all of this in his book 'What Is To Be Done?' and calls these people and their party delusional. They expect only small change and they publicise it like they've changed the system, yet they never can. There are parties in Pakistan who adhere to this "delusional" philosophy.

Secondly, Lenin says, the only way for real change, is through revolution. Change from the status quo, from corruption, from harsh living, from suffering, from inequalities and from corruption, is only by revolution. There is no other method, no alternative. Revolution can only be coordinated, planned and structured by a revolutionary party, led by a visionary, virtuous leader; "who is the best of the best".

From revolution people's lives will become better, equality will come into existence, corruption will end and prosperity will begin.

So, I ask you, to ask yourself, do you want change? Do you want to live a better life? Do you not deserve better? Then revolution is the only way. It is now, or never.
