Shaykh-ul-Islam addresses Workers Convention

An International Workers Convention was held on December 30, 2012 under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, which was attended by the hundreds of workers belonging to different forums of MQI including central, provincial and local leadership as well as representatives of oversees chapters of MQI from 90 countries.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed the convention. The proceedings of the programme were telecast live around the world through Channel 92 and mainstream media. The proceedings of the Convention got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat.

In his keynote address to the participants, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that mammoth public meeting on December 23 had created a storm among the so-called political elite who were the major beneficiary of the system. He said that they resorted to character assassination, which reflected their own moral degradation. He said that even the worst political opponents were forced to acknowledge that it was the biggest gathering in the country’s history. He thanked Allah Almighty for this crowning success.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that no one could find fault with reform agenda he presented. He said that Allah Almighty bears witness to the fact that he neither received even a single penny from MQI nor did he drink a cup of tea or eat a loaf of bread. He said that treasure of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and spirit of sacrifice of his workers was enough for him and he damn cared about worldly treasure. He said that fake Parliament, which came into being on the basis of fraudulent electoral system, would be suspended on January 14 and only that system would function, which would be acceptable to the masses.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the people would not allow anyone to enter corridors of power on the basis of their influence and wealth. He said that national resources did not belong to a handful of powerful families but were possession of 180 million people, which would be spent for their welfare. He said that there was no justification to have huge mansions such as President House, PM House, Governor and CM Houses in a country where people were dying of hunger. He said that those who sold the sanctity of their pen and conscience were indulging in baseless character assassination at the best of their paymasters.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri referred to act of huge sacrifices of the Companions of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), saying that hardly had they come back from a war with their injuries and bruises still ripe that the Holy Prophet (pbuh) gave them a second call to assemble and get ready to fight in Allah’s way. He said that the Companions forgot their injuries and were again determined to take on the enemies. He said that the workers of MQI had revived the memory of that act as they got ready for Long March on January 14 soon after the mega event of December 23.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presented the entire jewelry of his family for January 14 event. It was worth watching moment. Within twinkling of an eye, the workers offered their belongings, jewelry and properties to Shaykh-ul-Islam. By doing this act of sacrifice, they told the world that workers of MQI would not hesitate from offering any sacrifice to see a bright future for their succeeding generations.

Stand up for God's sake!

I am so charged. This emotion I'm feeling I cannot explain. I just want to cry, laugh and punch the wall all at the same time.

I don't understand, that in Pakistan over 30% are under the poverty line and over 60% find it hard to live day to day. So, why do these 108 million people not stand up? Do they not care about themselves? Do they not know that they are in this dire condition? Do they want to continue to die in these conditions? Do they not want to stand and take back their rights that which have been stolen from them? Is the whole country this stupid and illiterate that they cannot comprehend the severity of the Situation and the peaceful revolution will give them food, clean water, shelter, and free them from terrorist attacks?

Are you not going to stand up, O Pakistanis? Do you like your daughters being raped and kidnapped? Do you like your sons being killed? Mothers grieving? Fathers adverse from the affects of poverty and its crippling affects on the family? Do you not want to change Pakistan? To bring it back to the foundation upon it was built upon it; unity, faith and discipline? What is wrong with this nation?

There are people trying to save you, yet you do not stand? If a human sees an injustice, he stands up to it, otherwise, can he be human? If he sees suffering and not feel anything?

OK, it is easy to say that terrorism has gripped the country and "we fear for our lives", but the very purpose of this revolution is to end terrorism, as Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has stated. The fact remains that no government in the last 10 years has even placed down a law against terrorism. How on Earth can you ever be safe, if no government has done this? This system also asks the IMF and the World Bank for money in order to eliviate your poverty, yet you've seen none of this money, it goes into their foreign bank accounts. Those who rule you are more rich than the country itself, how on Earth can they know what the 180 million people live everyday life?

Some say, that Khan, PTI, can bring that change, but he wants to work within the corrupt system, it's not even possible that he could change the system, because the system had corrupted everyone including the late Benazir Buttho, and she was one of the best leaders the country every had. Tell me do you want someone who wants to work in the system, also has anti-US ideologies. Yes, there are drone attacks, but becoming enemies of any country does no good for Pakistan. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said in his interview when questioned by Mubasher Lucman when questioned what should Pakistan do, ally with China or Pakistan. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri's answer was "Pakistan, Pakistan and Pakistan". Pakistan did not need to ally with any country, that Pakistanis are more than capable to develop its own country, to this Lucman said on twitter, he is a "genius" and "i wanted to judge if the man has potential to lead in modern times."

But, the most thought provoking of all of this, is that Dr Qadri has revoked any form of contest in any elections post-reform, he said my intentions are "only to save the people". This shows that he does not seek for political power. He even told all the people who were to attend the 23rd December over 2 Million rally, that no one is allowed to bring any party flags, only Pakistan flags, because we are here to save the country. It is this party system which has led to sectionalisation and disuniy of society. No one is free till he frees himself of the strings he is attached to, then he can bring change into the country.

So, tell me, O Pakistanis, can we bring change? Can millions of us reach Islamabad to form the People's Parliament of Reform and Change? Do we have it within us, that we can free ourselves from the clutches of societal pressures, and do something to bring back the vision of Allama Iqbal and the creation of Quaid-e-Azam? Can we rebuild our country, which once used to have the largest port in the world? Can we create peace and security once again? Can we put back the smiles on the common man's face? Tell me, do we have it in us, to change our country for the better, because we are now on the brink of losing the country? The motherland is not secure, till we can say everything is provided for us in the motherland! Tell me, O Pakistanis, do we have it in us to bring change? In order to protect our daughters? To protect our sons? To protect our fathers? And to protect our mothers? No threat should be able to stop you from bringing a peaceful change and reform to make your lives better!

Stand up for God's sake! And bring about the change we all dream off at night, but find hell when we wake up in the morn.

All the information you require about 14 January is on www.nizambadlo.com. Peacefully march from Lahore to Islamabad on 14 January to bring change for the betterment for yourself, your family, your community, your society, your country! Stand up! And make a change!

LAHORE: Allama Tahirul Qadri, head of Minhajul Qur’an International (MQI), invited all religious and political parties of the country on Thursday to join his  protest, planned to be held on January 14, 2013, in Islamabad.
Holding a press conference along with Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) deputy convener Farooq Sattar, Qadri said that all those parties striving for reforming the electoral system and are fighting for people and democracy should join the protest.
“January 10 is the deadline, and January 14 is the day when our people’s parliament will announce a decision. We will resolve to provide rights to the people and to restore the real democracy,” Qadri said.
He assured that the protest will be peaceful and not in violation with the Constitution. “There will be no rioting. The protest will be peaceful. This is our political and constitutional right. Democracy allows peaceful protests.”
Qadri added, “We just need implementation and the execution of the Constitution, and we need the restoration of true and real democracy. We need the rights of our people back. We need to eradicate corruption and every kind of political exploitation from the electoral system.”

Khan and Change

If Imran Khan, PTI, were to work with Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri then he could actually bring Change. Both Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the 180 million people of Pakistan and Imran Khan want Change. Khan wants to bring reform after elections and Dr Qadri wants to bring reform before the election.

Khan has now a pride matter at hand, the reason for this is because for the last 18 years, Khan has tried to win the elections, but just last year he has had a eureka moment and he has now got a big following. So, now he is close to the elections, thinking he will win, but he knows deep down he will not, he may win 70 seats at most, but no way near a majority, why, because the corrupt forces will not allow it, and will do what they usually do, and therefore fail again.

So, why doesn't he put his pride aside and work to reform the system, so that there are no votes placed on gun point, and that there are free and fair elections. Even before that the constitution is fully functional. Then look and see if PPP, or PML-N or any other corrupt party or party members will not be elected by the people and people like Khan will be able to win elections and become President.

Therefore, I beseech to all those who want change and reform to come forward and join together and bring forward reform and change. A show of force as many analysts said, if Khan join Dr Qadri and MQM then, the corrupt system will collapse and then reforms and changes can happen. Then real change and success can come into play. Then the people will have rights, then the people will have food and clothes and then the people will have security and peace!

Pakistan religious leader threatens march on capital

LAHORE (AFP) - An influential religious leader in Pakistan threatened on Sunday to lead a protest march on the capital if the government fails to begin electoral reforms within three weeks.

Addressing a crowd of at least 100,000 in the eastern city of Lahore, Muslim scholar Tahir-ul Qadri said that meaningful reforms were needed as Pakistan approaches general elections expected in the spring.

"Elections without reforms will be meaningless and people will reject results if they are held under the existing system," said Mr Qadri, who leads a moderate Islamic group that has thousands of followers in Pakistan and worldwide.

"I give the government a deadline of three weeks to establish an honest and independent body that will introduce electoral reforms and pave the way for free and fair elections."

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri gives 18 days to govt to change system as per Constitution

Addressing a mega public gathering of millions in the history of Pakistan at historic Minar-e-Pakistan under slogan “Save State, not Politics”, Shaykh-ul-Islam has demanded that electoral system must be in accordance with the clauses of the Constitution by January 10, otherwise they would march towards Islamabad.

He said that he has no plan to support military takeover in Pakistan, adding that he will be the first one to oppose if such intervention ever made. He said that he had not come to Pakistan on any national or international agenda. “I am not against democracy but announcing agenda against the current political system.”

Before commencing the speech formally, Shaykh-ul-Islam took oath in front of millions of the participants that there are no foreign elements or agencies involved behind this great event, adding that only the followers of MQI supported financially to hold such large gathering. Shaykh-ul-Islam said that he did not have any agenda to cancel upcoming elections but to make electoral reforms that guarantee fair and transparent polls.
Shaykh-ul-Islam said that foreign actors wanted to destabilize the country, adding that the actors were being involved in Karachi unrest. System of exploitation and oppression will be ended in a peaceful manner.

Shaykh-ul-Islam criticized the current federal and provincial governments and other political parties.

“Majority of the politicians in the country do not pay their taxes,” he said. “Politicians just remember the single article of the constitution about elections in 90 days. They forget all other articles,” he said.

“I am not to postpone elections but to make it as per constitution of Pakistan,” he said and added that a time of more 90 days could be taken for amelioration. “Our elections will not be constitutional until we follow all clauses of the constitution.”

“Struggle is never a bed of roses, however our struggle will always be peaceful…we reject violence,” Shaykh-ul-Islam told the crowed.

Prior to his address, Shaykh-ul-Islam also expressed his condolences to the family of Bashir Ahmed Bilour, the leadership of the ANP and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkwa over the assassination of the senior minister.
