The inspiration for this Reform (the reason why it is not called a revolution can be found on www.prolificrealist.com) is a Pakistani born international intellectual personality, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. He has studied and practised law in Pakistan and authored 2 PhDs. He has written over 1000 books over 500 books have been published. He is the author of the magnanimous 600 page Fatwa on Suicide Bombing and Terrorism which categorically said that anyone committing terrorist acts under the name of Islam is going to Hell. This was reported by every single media outlet and applauded by every government in the world. He has delivered over 8000 lectures all over the world, which can be found online. He was awarded the highest status in Islam (amongst the Sunnis) by the majority of the Sunni scholars as Shaykh-ul-Islam, meaning the "Teacher of Islam", he is the highest authority in Islam.
He founded the NGO Minhaj-ul-Qur'an International which has centres in over 100 countries with millions of followers worldwide. This organisation stands for spreading Love, Peace and Knowledge to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Hence why they promote cohesion and integration between the different religions and non-religious groups. He also founded the organisation MWF (Minhaj Welfare Foundation) which provides humanitarian support all over the world in places like Gaza, Pakistan, Somalia and Indonesia.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has called for Change because the People have suffered enough under the corrupt tyrannous political system, which allows oppression and suffering of the people, instability of the economy, terrorism has gripped the country with hundreds dying every week and the system allows people who come into power to embezzle from the people; to name but a few problems. Dr Qadri had advised many Pakistani leaders to change the system in the past, but to no avail. Therefore, with all of this combined, he has called for a mass Reform for the system and for this, has called a mass peaceful protest against the system, at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore on the 23rd of December.
