All set for Qadri’s Lahore public meeting


LAHORE – Minhajul Quran is making arrangements to hold public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on Dec 23 (Sunday) on the return of Dr Tahirul Qadri. Minhajul Quran has constituted around one hundred committees to organise the event.
Workers are preparing a big stage at the venue that will complete on Friday (today). As per the spokesman, as many as six thousand people, notables from various walks of life including leadership of religious and political parties, businessmen, lawyers, teachers, labourers and peasants will sit on the stage along with Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. Besides personnel of police, Minhaj-ul-Quran has assigned duties of performing security at the venue to 10,000 youths. Organisers are expecting thousands of people from other provinces and Azad Kashmir to arrive on Saturday (tomorrow) to participate in the Sunday rally.
These participants, from other parts of the country, will spend night at the Minar-e-Pakistan for which the organizers have made necessary arrangements. As the organizers have decided not to place any chair on the venue, except on stage for guests and speakers, all the participants will have to sit on carpet.
Meanwhile, two elderly persons, one from Islamabad and the other from Sialkot, on Thursday reached Minar-e-Pakistan on foot. Haji Ghulam Haider Butt (70) started journey from Islamabad on December 1 and reached Lahore on foot in 20 days. Muhammad Anwar Numberdar (80) started journey from Silakot seven days back and he reached Minar-e-Pakistan on Thursday. Both the elderly people will stay at Minar-e-Pakistan till the day of rally.
