‘Police fire live rounds as peaceful protestors attempt to demonstrate outside Parliament.’

Pakistani police fire live rounds in the air as demonstrators attempt to voice their dissent at the failings of the current Federal administration. Firing was used as a way to induce a state of fear and panic among protestors. Spokesperson for MQI, Shahid Mursalin informed ARY News that police opened fire in what was an unprovoked attack. Earlier the Federal administration withdrew security from Dr Tahir ul Qadri, a move that has been criticised by many, raising suspicions of the possibility of an assassination attempt on Dr Qadri who along with hundreds of thousands of peaceful demonstrators is demanding electoral reforms.
