‘Night two of the peaceful protest in Islamabad is threatened by the assembly of water tanks and armed security personnel.’
Water tanks and armed security personnel have been deployed in close proximity of the peaceful protesters currently demonstrating in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Participants accuse Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik of using harassment tactics in order to disperse the crowd and end the protest for electoral reforms. The latest reports come after earlier accounts of aerial firing by police, leading to growing concerns that the Government is willing to do whatever it takes to end the siege of Islamabad, even if the strategy is not entirely legal.
